Trudi Brinckman is an installation artist who works with found materials, as well as having a close affinity with the element of water. Trudi sources objects and materials from the familiar environment and examines those qualities inherent in the materials that exist beneath the visible. She delicately peels back layers to reveal an undercurrent; rendering the familiar as unfamiliar. The world we construct, inhabit and build emotional connections with is then seen through a new and visual language. Trudi is primarily concerned with the creation of this alternative language as a new way of interpreting and understanding the manufactured environment.
